ISO9000

The principal activity of QAS International Limited deals with ISO9000:2000. These are all international quality management standards controlled by the International Organisation for Standardisation (ISO) in Geneva.

Many businesses and organisations require their suppliers to conform to established quality standards, and may not consider buying from those that do not. If you have achieved ISO9000:2000, you could be eligible to tender for more profitable work.

The revised standard, ISO9000:2000 increases the scope of the original, and covers customer satisfaction and continuous improvement.

QAS International and the International Organization for Standardization (ISO)

During 1998 QAS International's Chief Assessor, Owen Wright, visited the ISO offices in Geneva for a general discussion with the, at that time, Director of General Services and Marketing, M. Jacques-Olivier Chabot. M. Chabot was keen to promote the expansion of standards to small businesses and was encouraged by the work undertaken by companies such as ourselves in this sector.

At about the time of this visit, the ISO published its booklet, 'ISO 9000 for Small Businesses'. This guide to the implementation of the Standard demonstrates how to avoid over specification, which had become a serious problem for small businesses. QAS International refers constantly to this publication for its guidance.
